Aviation Electronics Technician Chief Chad Abel, a Recruit Division Commander at Officer Training Command (OTCN) measures the length of the displayed socks during the room inspection as part of the Room, Locker and Personnel (RLP) inspection for Officer Candidate School (OCS) class 04-20 in Newport, Rhode Island on Oct. 17, 2019. Candidates are to answer basic Naval and Marine Corps questions while performing physical training. Physical training is incorporated to increase their stress level. OCS develops civilians and fleet Sailors into newly commissioned officers morally, mentally, physically and imbue them with the highest ideals of honor, courage and commitment in order to prepare graduates for service in the fleet as Naval officers.
