NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (Oct. 25, 2019) Sailors assigned to USS Gerald R. Ford's (CVN 78) deck department heave a mooring line on the ship's fantail during a sea and anchor evolution. Ford departed Huntington Ingalls Industries-Newport News Shipbuilding and returned to sea for the first time since beginning their post-shakedown availability in July 2018 to conduct sea trials.
