A 28th Bomb Wing maintenance crew chief watches as the crew of a B-1B Lancer loads equipment onto an aircraft before takeoff at Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D., Oct. 24, 2019. Several B-1 aircraft flew to the U.S. Central Command area of operations to support a Bomber Task Force. The unannounced arrival of the B-1 demonstrates the global strike capacity and ability of the U.S. Air Force and Air Force Global Strike Command to rapidly deploy forward and deliver precision-guided ordnance against any adversary. Strategic bomber missions enhance the readiness and training necessary to respond to any potential crisis or challenge across the globe. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class John C.B. Ennis)
