Brian Mixon, air traffic control manager, receives the 2019 Air Traffic Control Manager of the Year Award from Jack McAuley, Raytheon Corporation, air traffic control association board member, in Washington D.C., Oct. 22, 2019. Mixon earned the award for his involvement in numerous facets of Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield in regards to air traffic and airspace on airfields and heliports, training, master planning, construction projects, instrument approach procedures, unmanned aerial systems, aircraft noise, and environmental factors concerning airspace. “This is an individual award, but to me, it is also an award for the Army team,” said Mixon.
