Command Sgt. Maj. Michael Kelly, senior enlisted advisor for the 1st Battalion, 178th Infantry Regiment, Illinois Army National Guard, assumes responsibility for the health, welfare, safety, training, and morale of the Soldiers of the 1-178, as well as those assigned to Task Force-Southeast, September 18, 2019. Kelly assumed the duty of the Task Force Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Commander in addition to welcoming his National Guard Soldiers to the Task Force. The 1-178 is currently deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operations RESOLUTE SUPPORT and FREEDOM'S SENTINEL. (US Army photo by Sgt. Nicholas Brown-Bell)
