NAVAL SUPPORT FACILITY REDZIKOWO, Poland (Oct. 25, 2019) – U.S. Navy Capt. Jon Grant, center, Naval Support Facility (NSF) Redzikowo’s commanding officer, hosted veterans of the Polish military from the nearby area for a tour of the base Oct. 25, 2019. Two prominent military veterans, Zbigniew Has, former lieutenant and current chairman of the Slupsk Division of the International Association of Home Army Veterans, and Janina Kos, former lieutenant of the Polish Home Army, were invited for a personal tour of the base to learn more about the Aegis Ashore mission, see the construction progress and gain a better understanding about the partnerships with the surrounding community. Once construction is completed, the Aegis Ashore site in Poland will expand a defensive capability that protects NATO European territories, populations and forces against ballistic missiles launched from outside the Euro-Atlantic region.
