The Soldiers were preparing for a Best Warrior Competition. The 54th, headquartered in Madison, Wis., is staffed by 22 full-time Army and Air Force National Guard personnel in 14 military specialties. The team supports local and state authorities at sites of domestic weapons of mass destruction and chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear incidents by identifying agents and substances, assessing current and projected consequences, advising on response measures, and assisting with requests for additional military support.
