Bradley Bandera, a general surgeon both assigned to the 175th Surgical Detachment, close a simulated patient with surgical sutures after completing a simulated exploratory laparotomy in the operating room of the field hospital at Sierra Army Depot, California, during a United States Forces Command Medical Emergency Deployment Readiness Exercise, Oct. 29, 2019. The exercise is based on real battlefield situations that allow the Soldiers to be trained to respond with required skillsets needed on the ground.
