Lance Cpl. Idrees Dukes places an American Flag at the grave sites of fallen soldiers buried at Lake Cemetery, Staten Island, May 25. There is an annual Memorial Day event here to remember troops killed in action. There are soldiers buried here from battles dating back to the Civil War. Dukes is an infantryman team leader, and Newark, N.J., native. He is part of the Special Marine Air Ground Task Force New York, embarked aboard USS Wasp during Fleet Week New York 2012. Fleet Week has been New York City's celebration of the sea services since 1984. It is an unparalleled opportunity for citizens of New York and the surrounding tri-state area to meet sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen, as well as see, firsthand, the latest capabilities of today's maritime services.
