Sphecius persa, the Cicada Killer Wasp, exits a hole in the side of a mud wall in the southern green zone of the Sangin Valley, Helmand province, Afghanistan May 29, 2012. The Cicada Killer is a predatory ground-dwelling wasp that was given its name because they hunt cicadas and use their bodies to construct their nests.
