A U.S. Air Force Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape specialist attempts to acquire satellite signals using a Combat Survivor Evader Locator radio at a training area near Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, Oct. 22, 2019. The SERE specialist was participating in a personnel recovery training scenario, as part of a joint exercise with the Qatar Emiri Air Force. CSEL radios allow rescues forces at the Joint Personnel Recovery Center at Al Udeid to receive messages from anywhere in the world, locate and authenticate personnel.
