Food service contractors prep potatoes at the Zone 6 Dining Facility at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, Nov. 26, 2019. This year’s Thanksgiving order was placed about nine months ago and has been tweaked over the months. This year, U.S. Army Central is planning to serve nearly 50,000 meals on Thanksgiving Day at around 60 dining facilities across the theater. Soldiers in remote locations will receive their Thanksgiving meal in insulated food containers delivered by air. Daily meetings are occurring between the Defense Logistics Agency, U.S. Army Central, U.S. Air Force Central, Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve, and other stakeholders to ensure that all deliveries are made in time.
