U.S. Marine Sgt. Brian Nguyen, right, assists Marines familiarizing themselves with Level 4 Mission Oriented Protective Posture Suits during Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear defense training during exercise Fuji Viper 20-2 on Camp Fuji, Japan, Nov. 19, 2019. Fuji Viper is a regularly scheduled training evolution that allows infantry units to maintain their lethality and proficiency in infantry and combined arms tactics. “This type of training has real world impacts,” said Nguyen, a Boston native and CBRN Chief. “CBRN training is often overlooked and the consequences can be deadly. Sharpening Marines’ skills with this type of training is invaluable to individual survivability and keeps them in the fight.” This iteration of Fuji Viper is executed by an activated reserve unit, 1st Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, currently attached to 4th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, as part of the unit deployment program.
