William Willis, an employee with New View Oklahoma, paints a final finish on a cardboard box to be refurbished and reused. New View Oklahoma has saved the Defense Logistics Agency $22.4 million since 2012 with their refurbishment of wood and cardboard boxes. As an Ability One affiliate agency, New View provides employment opportunities to people who are blind or vision impaired. The group was recently recognized by retired Brig. Gen. Ben Robinson, the State of Oklahoma's Secretary of Military and Veterans Affairs, for their empowering work during October's National Disability Employment Awareness Month.
