U.S. Marine Corps Col. Travis Gaines addresses the Marines at the conclusion of the operations order brief during Logistics Staff Training Exercise at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, California, Dec. 10, 2019. LSTX challenged the Marines’ ability to develop and execute complex combat service support plans within a notional scenario. This iteration of LSTX trained 3rd Marine Logistics Group’s primary staff, its first-ever major subordinate command staff. Training exercises like LSTX assess and refine staff members’ planning processes and increase their ability to fight and win at a moment’s notice.
