191217-N-CC785-003 DANVILLE, Ill. (Dec. 17, 2019) - Marines from Company B, 1st Battalion, 24th Marines out of Terre Haute, Ind. carry the casket of Marine Reserve Pfc. Jack Van Zandt out of the Sunset Funeral Home in Danville, Ill. on Dec. 17. Naval Station Great Lakes Chaplain Lt. Mark Thompson, who officiated at the chapel service, stands at attention. Van Zandt died in combat in 1943 with the 2nd Marine Division during the Battle of Tarawa in the Pacific theater of World War II.
