Indiana National Guard Capt. Matthew Symons, a national security law attorney with Task Force Spartan, stands shoulder-to-shoulder with Maj. Jihad Al Afun of the Jordan Armed Forces during a recent subject matter expert exchange designed to foster a deeper understanding of how each country approaches complex legal issues such as the rules of engagement, laws of armed conflict and crisis response management. This was one of a series of several similar type of engagements conducted by Task Force Spartan judge advocates with the Jordan Armed Forces. The multiday event focused on sharing information and best practices between the two legal corps.
