Capt. Mark H. Scovill, right, bids farewell during the Amphibious Squadron 8 (PHIBRON 8) change of command ceremony in the forecastle of multipurpose amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7). Capt. Scovill was relieved of command, as Commodore of PHIBRON 8 by Capt. Arturo Garcia. Iwo Jima, the flagship of the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group with the embarked 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is currently deployed to support maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
