SEA OF JAPAN (Jan. 5, 2020) Seaman Trevell Smith, from Baton Rouge, La., uses signalman paddles to send signals from the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Milius (DDG 69) as the ship conducts a replenishment-at-sea with the Henry J. Kaiser-class underway replenishment oiler USNS John Ericsson (T-AO 194). Milius is underway conducting operations in the Indo-Pacific region while assigned to Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, the Navy’s largest forward-deployed DESRON and the U.S. 7th Fleet’s principal surface force.
