200109-N-XK887-0161 DIEGO GARCIA, British Indian Ocean Territory (Jan. 9, 2020) Builder 2nd Class Cameron Burrows, from Carthage, Missouri, and Steelworker 2nd Class Dalton O’Cain, from Weirsdale, Florida, deployed with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5’s Detail Diego Garcia, prepare to attach chain link fencing to posts anchored into the ground. U.S. Navy Seabees deployed NMCB-5’s Detail Diego Garcia are constructing a central tool room storage cage, providing a more secure location to store tools and heavy machinery for future battalions on the island. NMCB-5 is deployed across the Indo-Pacific region conducting high quality construction to support U.S. and partner nations to strengthen partnerships, deter aggression, and enable expeditionary logistics and naval power projection.
