YOKOSUKA, Japan – Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka (CFAY) Multicultural Committee hosted an observance for Martin Luther King, Jr., in the Chapel of Hope, Jan 17. Operations Specialist Petty Officer Second Class Tyrone Ore recited King’s entire famous last speech, “I’ve Been to the Mountaintop,” purely from memory. King delivered the speech on April 3, 1968, and he was assassinated the following day. For 75 years, CFAY has provided, maintained, and operated base facilities and services in support of the U.S. 7th Fleet's forward-deployed naval forces, tenant commands, and thousands of military and civilian personnel and their families.
