(Left) Maj. Scott Brotherton, 51st Medical Group orthopedic surgeon, marks where he plans to perform surgery here June 7, 2012. The surgery is to repair a labrum torn while the patient was participating in an intramural volleyball game. The normal recovery time for the injury is between four to six weeks in order for the labrum to to re-attach itself to the rim of the bone, and another four to six weeks to regain strength, followed by physical therapy.
