Brotherton is repairing a torn labrum sustained while the patient was participating in an intramural volleyball game. The normal recovery time for the injury is between four to six weeks in order for the labrum to reattach itself to the rim of the bone, and another four to six weeks to regain strength, followed by physical therapy.
