Soldiers of 4th Infantry Division and Fort Carson celebrate the Army's 237th birthday with a traditional Army ball in honor of the men and women in uniform at the Special Events Center on post, June 16, 2012. The ball paid honor to the Army and its soldiers and families, serving in countries around the world to protect and defend freedom and the American way of life. Since its birth June 14, 1775 - more than a year before the signing of the Declaration of Independence - the U.S. Army has played a vital role in the growth and development of the nation. America's Army has fought in more than 183 campaigns, from the American Revolution to the current campaign in Afghanistan. Today, the Army stands ready to answer the nation's call and win.
