U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Gen. Brian D. Beaudreault, commanding general, II Marine Expeditionary Force, shakes hands with Colonel John O. Fuglem, in Bardufoss, Norway, Feb. 21, 2020. The purpose of the visit was to have a face-to-face meeting with the Chief of the Norwegian Army and to observe II MEF forward deployed Marines at work. MRF-E focuses on regional engagements throughout Europe by conducting various exercises, arctic cold-weather and mountain-warfare training, and military-to-military engagements, which enhance overall interoperability of the U.S. Marine Corps with allies and partners.
