LUMUT, Malaysia (June 19, 2012) Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician 2nd Class James Varner, assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit 5, demonstrates proper use of a detonator to members of the Royal Malaysian navy during demolition materials, procedures and unexploded ordnance training. The event is part of Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) 2012 Malaysia, a series of bilateral military exercises between the U.S. Navy and the armed forces of Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.
