200229-N-IK959-3382 GREAT LAKES, Ill. (February 29, 2020) – Navy Junior ROTC cadets participate in an Unarmed Knockout drill event during the 2020 Area 3 West Regional Academic, Athletic and Drill competition at Recruit Training Command (RTC), Feb. 29. More than 400 cadets from 16 NJROTC and Navy National Defense Cadet Corps (NNDCC) units in Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota and Nebraska participated in the two-day annual event. The knockout event is when cadets are judged on performing perfect facing movements. If the movements are judged not perfect the cadet is knocked out of the event.
