200229-N-IK959-3399 GREAT LAKES, Ill. (February 29, 2020) – Zion-Benton Township (Illinois) High School Navy Junior ROTC cadets show off their trophies and medals after winning the 2020 Area 3 West Regional Academic, Athletic and Drill competition at Recruit Training Command (RTC), Feb. 29. More than 400 cadets from 16 NJROTC and Navy National Defense Cadet Corps (NNDCC) units in Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota and Nebraska participated in the two-day annual event. This was the third win in a row for Zion and their ninth in 17 years. The Zion “Zee Bees” will next travel to the 2020 Navy Junior ROTC National Academic, Athletic and Drill Championship onboard Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola, Florida, in April.
