Retired U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Kathy La Sauce, tears up after being presented with a personalized SAM Fox blues jacket at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland, March 5, 2020. The 89th Airlift Wing invited La Sauce to tour the wing, talk to Airmen and present her with a gift in honor of her contributions to the Air Force and 89th AW. La Sauce achieved a number of firsts during her career including the first female to pilot the C-141 Starlifter aircraft, first female pilot for the 89th Airlift Wing and the first woman to command an aerial port squadron.
