Pam Kloiber, founder of the Tinker Home Away From Home program, speaks to Airmen at the First Term Airman Center about joining the program Feb. 10. The program has grown substantially from its inception in 2013, serving a total of 758 Airmen and Sailors at Tinker Air Force Base. The program focuses on new Airmen and Sailors, pairing them with host families from the surrounding communities, which gives them a somewhat familiar place to go outside their dorms and the Tinker gates to relax or share a home-cooked meal and form bonds, friendships and lasting memories.
