Army Reserve Sgt. Anthony Eckman, a combat medic and native of Santee, California, assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 453rd Chemical Battalion, 455th Chemical Brigade, 76th Operational Response Command swims laps in a pool at the University of Utah, March 6, as part of the German Armed Forces Badge of Military Proficiency challenge. Eckman and more than 150 other Soldiers from different commands spent three days at Fort Douglas, Utah, competing in a variety of physical challenges to earn the coveted badge. Events including a flexed arm hang, ruck march, 1000 meter sprint, pistol qualification, 100 meter swim and more. A total of 16 bronze, 40 silver and 35 gold badges were earned during the challenge.
