A Soldier emerges from the water during a timed 100 meter swim test at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah, March 6 as part of the coveted German Armed Forces Badge of Military Proficiency test. More than 170 Soldiers and from the 405th Civil Affairs Battalion, 807th Medical Command (Deployment Support), 76th Operational Response Command, and cadets from the Reserve Officer Training Corps spent three days at Fort Douglas, Utah competing to earn the badge. The competitors faced several daunting physical challenges, including a 100 Meter swim in uniform, a flexed arm hang, 1000 meter sprint, pistol qualification, medical test and a ruck march.
