Eric Knopp, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Regional Rivers Repair Fleet welder, works on the Black Rock Lock gates in Buffalo, NY, March 20, 2020.
"The job itself hasn't been affected. We're continuing to work the Black Rock Lock gate repairs and support the navigation mission. I believe the Army Corps of Engineers is doing their best to make sure we're safe as we continue to work on-site. They keep on us to stay clean and wash our hands."
Buffalo District, Huntington District, and Regional Rivers Repair Fleet (R3F) personnel from fleets moored in Pittsburgh, Nashville and Louisville are working to improve the Black Rock Lock infrastructure and sustain its functionality for future navigation seasons.
