March is recognized internationally as women’s month to honor the contributions of women throughout history. This month allows us the opportunity to recognize and highlight a few women currently serving in the Kosovo Force Regional Command East ranks. Scattered throughout KFOR RC-E women are proving to be idols in their own right as they exemplify attributes of the military’s values and the overall KFOR mission.
Hungarian Defense Forces Lt. Georgina Kovács
Brand new to service, Kovács has hit the ground running as a psychological operations officer with the Liaison Monitoring Team “Kilo 10”.
“I am quite new in the army,” Kovács. “I joined in the beginning of 2019, but I am well prepared both mentally and professionally for this mission so I am looking forward to being here for the next half year.”
Her aspirations of being a Soldier started at a very young age and she continues to harness that enthusiasm and ambition to further herself in her career.
“It has been a childhood dream of mine to join,” said Kovács. “After studying international security and defense policy in the Hungarian National University of Public Services and an internship in the Civil-Military Cooperation and Psychological Operation Center, I knew this is what I want to do full-time.”
Always looking for new ways to challenge herself and set herself apart, Kovács is excited to be part of the KFOR mission.
“I am very motivated to improve myself,” said Kovács. “Our unit is a really great place to do that and it helps that I think of them as a second family.”
Kovács is just as bright as her burning-red-hair and definitely a force not to be reckoned with.
“It is really important to improve yourself not just mentally and professionally but also physically as well,” said Kovács. “You can do whatever you want in your life if you are persistent and give everything to achieve your goals.”
