Command Sgt. Maj. William Johnson, the senior non-commissioned officer for the 2nd "Strike Force" Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, based out of Fort Carson, Colo., congratulates Sgt. John Valenzuela, a native of Manila, Philippines, after Valenzuela won the NCO of the Year competition for the Strike Force Brigade at Forward Operating Base Loyalty in eastern Baghdad, Oct. 12. Valenzuela won by beating four other competitors and is a member of the Brigade Special Troops Battalion.
