Lt. Gen. John M. Brown III, retired, speaks with soldiers of the 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, about his experiences as a Blue Spader during the Vietnam War, during an organization day event held at Thorn Park, June 22. More than 70 Blue Spader veterans, boasting service from World War II through present day, traveled from all over the country to attend the event, which included a formal Blue Spader Association dinner the following day.
