Myrna McKee reads a selection of Bible verses as a house blessing for her niece, Ashley Burton, a logistics management specialist for the B-1 Bomber, during a house dedication ceremony Feb. 21. Burton was presented with gifts and the keys to her new home from the Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity organization.
Burton said she completed 300 hours of "sweat equity," which includes helping to build other community members' houses through the program and working in their Central Oklahoma Habitat Restore, in order to finish her home. She also took homeowner courses offered through the program taught about home insurance, home repairs and the legalities of home ownership.
Construction time took around three months to complete. Burton said that Habitat for Humanity is always looking for Tinker families to participate in their program. "I just think it's a great program and everyone should try to volunteer," Burton said. Visit cohfh.org to learn more about Habitat for Humanity. (U.S. Air Force photo/Kelly White)
