Staff Sgt. John Gomez, a medical technicial with the 72nd Operational Medical Readiness Squadron, has been enlisted in the U.S. Air Force for four and a half years. He claims New York City to be his hometown, but originally came from Pereira, Columbia. As the non-commissioned officer in charge of the 72OMRS, Gomez in charge of operations in his squadron. On the frontline of the 72nd Medical Group, he and his colleagues are supporting the mission by screening patients for upper respiratory symptoms and taking vitals, ordering medications and delivering them to patients on-the-spot. They ask questions for COVID symptoms and perform a nasal wash and send to the lab if necessary. Gomez says he likes his job because he likes to help people and be able to carry on with the mission.
