Col. Aaron Resinger, commander of the Army Corps of Engineers, Chicago District, anxiously awaits the arrival of three C-130’s carrying 250 tents to arrive at Midway International Airport April 8. The tents will be used to create negative pressure rooms for COVID19 patients at the COVID19 Alternate Care Facility at McCormick Place in Chicago. Once complete, the facility will have a total of 3000 beds for those who have the virus. The Chicago District, in support of the White House, Department of Defense, FEMA, and state and local authorities, has been working around the clock in order to create four ACFs to help slow the spread of the pandemic.
