VICENZA, Italy (April 25, 2020) - A wreath stands at the base of the Eternal Flame monument on Caserma Ederle, Vicenza, Italy, in memory of Italian and American fighters, who made the ultimate sacrifice during the liberation of Italy, 75 years ago. U.S. Army and Italian Army senior officers paid respects during a virtual Italy Liberation Day Ceremony livestreamed on social media. Liberation Day observations are typically large public events in Italy, but not possible this year due to nationwide COVID-19 safety precautions.
