BATON ROUGE, La. – Residents wait for pilots from Barksdale Air Force Base, La., and the Louisiana Air National Guard to perform a flyover of the state Capitol and medical facilities in Baton Rouge, La., on Friday, May 1, to honor healthcare workers, essential employees, and volunteers working in the fight against COVID-19.
The flyover was part of the Air Force Salutes program and included two B-52 Stratofortresses assigned to the 2nd Bomb Wing at Barksdale AFB and two F-15 Eagles from the 159th Fighter Wing based at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base New Orleans. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Amy Picard)
