Marines with Combat Logistics Battalion 24, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, offload a Humvee at Camp Buehring, Kuwait, July 4, 2012, as the Marines prepare for future training exercises ashore in Kuwait. Marines and equipment from Charlie Company, Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, and CLB 24, both commands with 24th MEU, arrived at Camp Buehring from USS Gunston Hall and joined a contingent of 24th MEU Marines who were already ashore to participate in training exercises throughout the summer. The 24th MEU is deployed as part of the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group, a U.S. Central Command theater reserve force providing support for maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
