Lance Cpl. Tim Dembeck, a Middletown, N.Y., native and rifleman with 2nd Platoon, Alpha Company, Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, supports his fellow squad members by maintaining his sector of fire on a potentially hostile building during a final dry-fire drill prior to live-fire close quarter combat training at Udairi Range in Kuwait, July 3, 2012. A contingent of Marines from the 24th MEU is ashore in Kuwait conducting sustainment training during their regularly scheduled deployment to the U.S. Central Command area of operations. The 24th MEU is deployed with the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group as a theater reserve for U.S. Central Command and is providing support for maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
