The MK 110 57mm gun fires from the forecastle of the national security cutter USCGC Waesche (WMSL 751) during a live gunnery exercise with the guided-missile frigate USS Vandegrift and ships from the Philippine Navy and Coast Guard. This event is part of Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training 2012 Philippines. CARAT is a series of bilateral military exercises between the U.S. Navy and the armed forces of Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.
