The Algerian navy ship Soummam (937) sails past the Statue of Liberty in New York Harbor, marking the first time an Algerian navy ship has visited the United States. During their visit, the Algerian crew will tour the city and conduct office calls with city and government officials. The Soummam transited the Atlantic from Algeria as part of a training mission for Algerian naval academy students. (Photo by Lt. Dan Day)
