Rear Adm. Craig Clapperton, commander, Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 12, watches as one of USS Gerald R. Ford's (CVN 78) Advanced Weapons Elevators brings inert ordnance to Ford's flight deck during a tour of the ship June 3, 2020. Clapperton made his first official visit as CSG-12 commander, to evaluate Ford's operational procedures and ability to support the strike groups command and control mission.
