Genisis Lopez with first aid to her notional, critically injured Soldier during their end of course validation of the Combat Lifesaver course. Thirty-two Soldiers completed the annual 40-hour training July 15, 2020, during the California Army National Guard’s 143rd Military Police Battalion’s annual training on Marine Corp Base Camp Pendleton, California. Proper use of self/buddy aid and combat lifesaver skills can reduce battlefield deaths 15-18 percent according to the U.S. Army Medical Department Center and School Department of Combat Medic Training.
