U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Carter Dawson, a crisis response team member with Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear Platoon, Headquarters Battalion, 3d Marine Division, finishes the rescue of a simulated casualty during a rope rescue technicians course at Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, Okinawa, Japan, July 29, 2020. The CBRN Platoon conducted rescue training at a cave as part of an ongoing ropes course, in order to maintain proficiency in specialized rescue techniques. To mitigate the risks associated with COVID-19, the Marines utilized masks and maintained social distancing during the training evolution. Dawson is a native of Wilmington, North Carolina.
