Horizontal construction engineers with the 242nd Engineer Company out of Coffeyville, Kansas, use their equipment to transform an empty site into a new physical fitness training field and irrigation pond at the Great Plains Joint Training Center in Salina, Kansas, July 20. In conjunction with existing resources like a weapons qualification range and soldier readiness program site, the new facility at GPJTC will enable units across the state to complete more major training events all at the same location, improving efficiency and readiness.
