Manteca, Calif., native Sgt. Joseph R. Reyes, an explosive ordnance disposal sergeant for five years and a team member for the Camp Roberts-based 217th Ordnance Company (EOD), California Army National Guard, spools out detonating cord while preparing to render harmless an unexploded projectile from an anti-tank weapon at Camp Roberts, July 11. As part of their training, the 217th periodically renders potential hazards safe such as unexploded ordnance from various ranges at the installation.
